Site Background: 17,000 acre former Navy Master Jet Base conveyed from 1999-2002 to three public entities: City of Jacksonville (JEDC-8,300 acres, City of Jacksonville Parks-2,200 acres), Jacksonville Aviation Authority-6,100 acres and Clay County-640 acres. Currently it is primarily home to aviation and aerospace uses. Home to the only McCallum Sweeney certified megasite in Florida. Cecil Commerce Center is the landside complement to the expanding JAXPORT-already one of the largest ports in Florida. Also, the surrounding westside Jacksonville workforce has many complementary industrial and manufacturing skill sets, thousands of recent military (aviation) personnel separations in the Jacksonville area and more than 164,500 workers within 20 minute commute zone.
