Updates

  • The 90-car Express Load incentive is available at $125 per car for elevators and shippers for a 3-year period, from Oct. 1, 2009 to Sept. 30, 2012. Exceptions may apply for facilities where other programs are in place. The 90-car Express Unload program remains at $75 per car for feed mill receivers.   • CSX announces the upgrade of Murphy-Brown’s Rose Hill, N.C., Feed Mill to a 90-car receiver of unit trains. Also in North Carolina, Prestage Farms has completed the 90-car upgrade at their Turkey, N.C., facility. In Mobile, Ala., FGDI can now unload 90-car trains for export. There are now 24 feed and export facilities located on CSX or a connecting short line that can receive 90-car trains. See the list of certified 90-car facilities.

  • Gavilon’s elevator in Mauzy, Ind., has completed construction to enable shipment of 90-car trains. The Mauzy facility will participate in the CSX Express program, loading an entire 90-car unit train within 15 hours. CSX has access to 43 elevators that can load 90-car trains.

  • Total Grain Marketing is in the process of converting its Casey, Ill., elevator to enable shipment of 90-car trains and will be an Express loader. Casey should be ready to ship 90s by late fall. ADM is also converting its Hoopeston, Ill., elevator to a 90-car Express shipper. Hoopeston should be ready by harvest 2010. Hoopeston will join ADM’s facilities in Beech Grove, Ind.; Chillicothe, Ohio; Oakland, Ill.; Webberville, Mich.; and Grand Ledge, Mich. as 90-car shippers on the CSX network.
